Kit Possible
Kit Possible
By Lurker Bob
The shower hissed, steamy water rinsing the mud from Kim's hair. Saving the world could be a dirty job. She sighed, looking underneath her fingernails. "Very dirty work."
Outside, in a tree, someone watched the frosted windows of Kim's bathroom, waiting..
Kim turned off the shower, and heard the instant tones of her communicator. Why did it always go off at the worst times? It went off again. She grabbed a robe, a towel, around her head, and she was ready.
"What's the sich?" she sighed.
Wade beamed back at her, "Thought you'd like to know there's been a break in at Ridgefield Biochemical."
"At this hour of the night? Let the police handle this one… wait, why are you telling me this at all?"
Wade beamed. "The security camera showed a certain graceful redhead actually doing the robbery."
Kim raised an eyebrow. "Show me," Wade's face was replaced by the grainy film. Kim was shocked. It looked like her.
Wade's voice cut in, "I know where you've been, but I don't think my pictures would be believed."
Kim blushed, "Wade, we have to talk, but later. Right now, I need to get out of here."
CRASH. Tinkle Tinkle
Kim's eyes darted back and forth. "That's on my end. I'll get back to you after I deal with this."
Wade disappeared with a way too cheery "Seeya."
With the parents and the twins away at a Scientist convention, Kim was alone in her house. Alone, with an intruder. The light was turned off with a flick of her finger. The robe slid off her shoulders, the towel fell from her hair. Nude, she was a better gymnast than almost anyone. Still, the plan was to get dressed, it wouldn't do to face her guest in the buff. She rolled into her room. Someone else was there. The silhouette looked like her own. It wasn't Shego, no glowing green gloves. The figure sprung at her. Duck and roll. The intruder's claws grazed her backside.
"Ouch!" Kim rubbed the bloody ribbons. Who was this person? Who had she upset who had claws? Gill? No fish smell. Kim rolled back out of her room. Did she see her attacker smile?
Kim slammed the bathroom door shut. Thump. THUMP. Her assailant was trying to get in. With the communicator in one hand and a robe quickly wrapped about her body, she opened the bathroom window. THUMP. THUMP! The door's hinges were about to give. Kim dived out the window. CRASH.
Kim thought about running, but instead tucked in close to the house. She held her breath and lie there, motionless. A shadow darkened the windowed.
"Yes!" thought Kim. A face leaned out of the window. "I'll finally see who this is, "she whispered.
A face emerged; it had her signature hair, but not her nose. This girl's one was different. Maybe it was the whiskers. She had cat's ears, and her hands were paws. The feline Kim looked back and forth.
A tinny voice came from her collar, "Where are you, dear?"
"I lost her," her own voice drifted down to her.
"Come home, " the tinny voice stated. The felinoid girl leaped out of the window and ran into the night, furry tail tailing behind her, wearing a white medical backpack.
A couple minutes later, Kim breathed and flicked her communicator back on.
Wade was there, "Kim?"
Kim breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, it's me. Whatcha got?"
"It's not good, the police are on their way to you."
"I saw who did it."
"That's great!"
"Not really, she looks just like me, if I was part cat."
"Part cat?"
Then, both at once, they exclaimed, "D.N. Amy!"
Wade nodded, "I'll see if I can find out what's she's into. You'd better leave before the cops get there."
Kim looked longingly back at her window as sirens pierced the night.
"I'll get back to you." Kim ran off into the night wearing only a bathrobe.
